Miss World Cup 2010 is Jennifer Scherman of Argentina

Is it a sign of things to come when an Argentine beauty takes out a field of 32 to clinch a World Cup side show?

Every four years, the World Cup comes along and dazzle our imagination. Football shows its international appeal in a way no other sport can, even spurning a whole host of side shows to prove that football is a lot more than just a game played by 22 guys chasing one ball.

The 32 beauties from all across the world to contest the Miss World Cup 2010 prove exactly that. Earlier on June 2, the beauty queens from each of the participating country at the football World Cup descended on the southern German city of Rust to try and stake an early claim for World Cup glory.

In the end, it was a contestant from Argentina who took the honours. Jennifer Scherman might not be too famous for now, but her win might just have been a sign from the gods that Maradona and company could win in South Africa, maybe?
