Free Tango Lessons in Buenos Aires

March 1, 2010 – 10:49 am

Due to the growing popularity of Tango Argentino, HostelBookers – the budget accommodation specialist, is offering the opportunity to take free tango lessons in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The cosmopolitan metropolis, considered a paradise for budget travelers, is well known for its great nightlife, awesome shopping, and cheap Buenos Aires Hostels(www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/argentina/buenos-aires/). During the last decade, Tango Argentino has become a rising star amongst the classical salon dance styles. Considered outdated for many years, it has once again has become a very fashionable dance in Buenos Aires.

Paris, Berlin, New York and many other world cities followed that trend soon – Tango schools are appearing everywhere and start to offer Tango lessons to even the youngest. This is one of the reasons why Buenos Aires is the favourite travel destination for many Europeans and Americans.

Declared “Intangible Cultural Heritage” by UNESCO in 2009, Tango, the most passionate and alluring of all dances, is an integral part of the Argentine culture. For many Argentines the international popularity of Tango Argentino might even have gone a little bit too far, when a Japanese couple won the “salon first prize” at the Argentine Tango Dance World Championship in 2009.

Following this trend, HostelBookers is offering the opportunity to attend Tango lessons held by the renowned tango teachers Constanza Vecslir and Rolando Valdivia from “Puro Tango Argentino” in Buenos Aires.

Participants just have to become fans of HostelBookers on Facebook (www.facebook.com/hostelbookers/) and send an email to competitions@hostelbookers.com with their name, the preferred date of the Tango lesson and the right answer to the following question:

“In which year was tango declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”?
