The second Dubai Tango Festival (DTF 2010) will be held from April 15 – 18, 2010 in collaboration with The Embassy of Argentina and Tango Dubai.
The festival will be attended by an impressive line-up of international dancers who will be hosting a selection of Tango workshops and performances, as well as ‘Milongas’, and a lavish gala dinner at the JW Marriott hotel on the 18th April, 2010.
Tango workshops will be conducted by famous Argentinean Maestros including:- Alejandra Hobert and Adrian Veredice, Rodrigo ‘Joe’ Corbata and Lucila Cionci, as well as Facundo Gil Jauregui.
The workshops will be available for all three days at DUCTAC in Mall of the Emirates from the 15-18 April, 2010, and classes are available for beginners through to intermediate and advanced dancers. Private classes are also available on request.
“Carla Moukarzel will also be offering Yoga Tango as part of the workshops this year, and each evening we will be celebrating the festival with traditional ‘Milongas’,” said Eleanor Brodie, Organiser of The Dubai Tango Festival.
“It’s a rare opportunity for Tango enthusiasts to taught by some of the best dancers in the business, and you also get the chance to see them performing live at the gala dinner,” added Brodie.
The’ Milongas’(Tango dance parties) will also be held every evening from 9.00pm at the JW Marriott in Deira, and the’ grand finale’ gala dinner will be held on the 18th April, 2010 in the hotel’s ballroom.
“The gala dinner will include a cocktail reception, followed by a sumptuous Argentinean buffet and an evening of the most spectacular dancing,” said Maya Saliba, Organiser of The Dubai Tango Festival.
“This year we are also having a Tango Art Exhibition, and will be showcasing works from well-known local artists such as Tiffany Schultz, Oleysa Sydorenko, and Ahmed Al Agouza,” added Saliba.
Tickets for the gala dinner and performance are priced at Dhs 350.00 per person, and include a cocktail reception and buffet dinner including a selection of Argentinean beverages.
“UNESCO declared Tango a part of the world’s ‘intangible cultural heritage’the festival is therefore also recognised as such in the UAE. We are extremely proud to be part of The Dubai Tango Festival, and we are pleased to announce that all the proceeds from the event will be donated to ‘IHSAN’ – a local charity based in Ajman,” said H.E.
