“We are talking, chatting away to them,” he told Reuters at the Monaco Grand Prix when asked about talks between him and the Argentine authorities. He said the target was 2011 rather than next year.
Argentina, home of the late champion Juan Manuel Fangio, first appeared on the Formula One calendar in 1953 and hosted 20 races in Buenos Aires over the decades until the last in 1998 won by Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher.

Although the Argentine media has raised the possibility of the sport returning to a street circuit in Mar del Plata, few have held out any serious hope due to the considerable costs involved.
The Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo is currently the only South American round of the championship.
